How do I know if I need professional help?
Consider seeking professional help if you’re experiencing symptoms that interfere with daily life, relationships, work, or well-being. Warning signs include:
- Persistent sadness, hopelessness, or emptiness
- Excessive worry, fear, or panic attacks
- Dramatic mood swings or irritability
- Withdrawal from activities you once enjoyed
- Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
- Changes in sleep or appetite
- Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
If you’re unsure, scheduling an evaluation can provide clarity. You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out—early support often leads to better outcomes.
Do you work with adolescents?
Yes! We provide mental health services for adolescents as well as adults. Margaret Akintan has extensive experience working with teens and their families.
Adolescent care requires specialized approaches that consider developmental factors, family dynamics, and the unique challenges facing young people. We’re here to support both teens and their families through the treatment process.
What should I do in a mental health emergency?
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency, please take immediate action:

- Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room
- Text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line
